Overview: Amélie Bouvret writes: "I build my guitars according to the Spanish tradition. The assembly techniques as well as the use of glue based on skin and bones are essential. My rosettes are handmade with different kinds of veneer. The humidity is strictly controlled to obtain perfect stability. All my guitars have a shellac French polish finish. I only use hand tools. Working without machines requires a slower pace, but the direct relationship with materials as well as with traditional tools offers permanent satisfaction. The instrument comes to life at each step, over the hours. Description: The sound and sustain of this lovely instrument are remarkable: Unusually well balanced both across and up and down the strings; each note is rich, creamy, solid, palpably woody and complex. The trebles are dynamically responsive, harmonious, lyrical, colorful, and clear; the basses deep, well grounded, slightly edgy, and also very responsive, colorful, and clear. The guitar's friendly neck contour and low comfortable string action encourage precise finger placement and swift position shifts.
