Imaginative Arrangement on the Guitar

When arranging well-known classical works for guitar—whether by Bach or by the great Spanish pianists—we often remain too close to the surface of the original, rather than reimagining it in the guitar’s own terms. This talk explores how to think more freely and creatively about arrangement: how to translate musical ideas, not just the notes, and how to find solutions that are idiomatic,

surprising, and musically convincing. It is intended both for those developing arranging skills and for listeners interested in what lies behind an effective transcription.
