Embodying as it does the allure of cedar without cedar's common detriments, this innovative concert guitar represents a significant contribution to the art of guitar making in general and to the use of western red cedar for soundboard construction in particular.
Since Robert Ruck closed his waiting list, we have been honored to receive on average one new concert guitar a year from this great maker. The magnificent concert instrument offered here, crafted to the specifications of one of this master's most successful designs, incorporates among other wonderful attributes Robert Ruck's proprietary all wood composite top construction (loosely though somewhat misleadingly referred to by some as double top technology).
An inspired and inspiring work of art, this very impressive modern concert guitar has quick unusually powerful satin like trebles, deep firm complex basses, perfect balance, solid fundamental tones, and overall a very rich very precise expansive traditional musical sound. Typical of this esteemed luthier's consummate work, this elegant instrument - with its low firm action, refined neck contour, and moderately elevated fingerboard - is also particularly easy to play. To paraphrase one of our usually more reticent colleagues: "These are concert guitars for performers who wish to be heard in the next county without sacrificing artistic nuance, color palette or quality of sound." Robert Ruck's celebrated concert instruments have been performed and recorded on by numerous artists around the world - most notably, of course, by Manuel Barrueco. (Learn more).
