Classical Guitar:

Greg BYERS, U.S.A.
Traditional Bracing

Indian/cedar
Used : 2001
$ 9,750.00 (Sold)

We love these classical guitars. The Byers guitars that we have been privileged to offer over the years have had a sparkle and focus which were quite special indeed.

One of only a few very talented American makers to achieve international acclaim, Greg Byers handcrafts a concert guitar which is unusually responsive to a player's every artistic demand. His guitars possess outstanding evenness and separarion, exceptionally accurate intonation, and superb workmanship.

They also have one of the easiest, most comfortable neck and action set ups around. Concert guitars of great power and projection, these instruments are much, much more: rich colorful very solid trebles (including an unusually quick, strong first string), deep 'cello like basses, strong fundamental tones throughout, clean warm dark sound in all registers.

David Russell has recorded two C.D.s with his Byers guitar: "Music of Federico Moreno Torroba" Telarc C.D. 80451; "Guitar Quebec '94" Doberman-Yppan DO-179. David Tanenbaum, Kevin Gallagher, Phillip Candaleria and Den Min Yeh have also performed and recorded on Byers' instruments. Most recently, Scott Tenant purchased a Greg Byers concert guitar with a cedar soundboard. (Learn more).

Materials: Lovely old master grade materials throughout, western red cedar soundboard, Indian sides and back, high "C" 20th fret on the first string, Byers' traditional bracing pattern, perfectly executed 'V' graft head to neck joint, exceptionally clean workmanship, French polish of shellac finish, Rodgers L201 precision tuning machine heads (the finest in the world) with engraved brass sideplates and kidney shaped satinwood buttons, Byers' nut and saddle compensation system for exceptionally accurate intonation, 650mm string length, Galli Genius medium tension strings.
