Nathasja van Rosse
Dutch classical guitar virtuoso Nathasja van Rosse is a dynamic young musician whose refined artistry has received world-wide critical acclaim.
Her early music studies were at the Junior High School for Music and Dance and at the Conservatory in Rotterdam, Netherlands. At a young age she was already performing many concerts, both solo and with orchestra, as well as making appearances on radio and television. Later she continued her studies in both solo and chamber music with L. Witoszynskyj in Graz, Austria. In 1999 she completed her Masters studies with excellent results at the Hague with Zoran Dukic.
Nathasja van Rosse has been a finalist in several guitar competitions, including Kutna Hora, Czech Republic and Volos, Greece. Her highly praised solo debut CD, Guitar Music of South-America, was released in December 1999. Since then she has been invited to perform at many guitar festivals and on classical music series. Among other engagements, Nathasja van Rosse has performed on the Distinguished Artists Series in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, and at International Guitar Festivals in Istanbul, Turkey, Seckau, Austria, and Zwolle, Netherlands.
Nathasja van Rosse's magnificent performances have inspired several composers to write and dedicate exciting works to her. She will present a compilation of these wroks on her soon to be released second CD. In addition to her solo work, Nathasja van Rosse is a member of the Trio Cantaguitarra (Marian van der Heide, voice, Rob Nijboer and Nathasja van Rosse, guitar). When not concertizing, Nathasja van Rosse teaches classical guitar in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
